Are video games and computer games worse than watching tv?

My parents hate that i like to play video games and computer games, but all they do is watch tv. Is there something that makes playing video games and computer games worse than watching tv? Help me out here. Are video games and computer games worse than watching tv?
Your parents telling you not to play video / computer games while they themselves watch TV non-stop is a classic case of "Do what I say not what I do."

If they have good reasons for why playing too many games is bad for you (which there likely are several) then those reasons should also apply to watching too much TV. It sounds like your parents could stand to watch less TV and you could stand to play fewer games.

I recommend reading or sports as possible healthier alternatives. :)
As far as both go, to much is bad for your health. Deciding which is worse all depends on what games you play and the type of T.V. you watch.

Ex. Violent video games are more dangerous than television because you can control what the character does (and with many games today, more violence=more points). This can have a negative impact on how aggressive you become later on in life. Are video games and computer games worse than watching tv?
Carpal Tunnel, you can develop it from playing excessive amounts of video games but the risk from watching TV is minimal, I am really stretching here but that is really all the difference.
If watching TV and playing video games are your priorities in life than they are just as bad as each other. As long as your doing well in school and/or working it doesn't really matter. Some parents are just stupid and believe whatever Fox news tells them. Are video games and computer games worse than watching tv?
Depending on the game(s), they will actually help you develop critical thinking skills and hand eye coordination.

Sitting in front of a television helps you develop a fat a$$.
two things separate the two: You can control things in a game, and theres more variety on tv.
No. It's just that you have better things you should be doing. They most likely are watching TV after having come home from work/cleaning house.
Actually watching tv is worse unless its like the news. Video games keeps you active (hands)
