How can my son make his own simple computer games?

My son is almost 10 and loves computer games. He would like to start creating his own simple games with the computer, but I have no idea where to direct him. We stared trying to learn Adobe Flash together, but I think that is a little complicated and will take a while to learn.



Does any one know of some good basic software, a website, or program where he could start learning some programing skills related to gaming (thinking not violent games).
