Can violence in computer games influence violent behavior?

For my BTEC in games development, i have an assignment to complete on whether violent computer games can affect someones behaviour.

So what are your opinions? Do you think prolonged exposure to violence in computer games can alter someones behaviour, particularly at a younger age? And do you think that nowadays it is too easy for someone under 18 to get hold of and play a game that has an age certificate of 18? I'm hoping to get a range of answers form people of different ages and backgrounds, even if you don't play computer games yourself,

No. It does not. and if it ever is actually proved to (which it hasn't been yet, correlation is not causation!), its the lazy parents fault for not paying attention to the M rating. The ratings are there for a reason, so they should either pay attention or make the kid buy his own games (thus barring him/her from whatever 'popular' M-rated game they wanted due to the M-rating)Can violence in computer games influence violent behavior?

But I do think that it is too easy to obtain a 18+ game at any age.

yes because when your watching something that has violence it goes straightly to your behavior and effects it with violence.
i have been gaming since the age of 4 when i got the snes im now 18 tomorrow so around 14 years of gaming



i have had fights like most other people but i prefer the self defence rather than going out being a idiot thinking im hard on the streets



also my girlfriend says that im the most laid back person she has ever met, i dont really care about most things like if someone gets drunk and breaks my phone i wont flip off about it and beat them up .



so in my opinion i think that it doesnt actually affect me personally but there are millions of people that are violent by not playing video games and those that play them can be violent aswell
