What do guys think of women who play computer games?

I like to play computer games sometimes. Not the shoot-em-up types or combat based like WOW, but mostly strategy games such as Sid Meier's Civ games or RollerCoaster Tycoon. I don't really tell other girls this and much less guys as its a bit embarassing being that I'm a twenty-something female. I'm not a fanatic or anything (no spreadsheets) but I do find it a fun way to pass the time.

What do you think other people would think of this, especially guys?What do guys think of women who play computer games?
I think it's brilliant and I certainly don't think it's anything worth hiding. It doesn't make you an uber geek, and even if it did, would it really matter? In your case it's just another aspect of your character, it doesn't define you. So it's just another aspect of your character that has the potential for generating conversation and communication with others. This surely can only ever be a good thing, even if it's you defending your position as a gamer against someone who thinks they are a waste of time. I'm a 23 year old bloke who enjoys a spot of gaming although not as much as I used to, and so I would find it an attractive quality if anything because it opens up more possibilities for time spent together. If I wasn't into gaming, then that wouldn't happen, but it certainly wouldn't be a turn off, just a difference.



Of course I am a fairly rational, contemplative human being. I expect some people are far less reasonable and level-headed, and I daresay some will consider you a nerd or slightly alien, but does it really matter?

As long as she enjoys the sort of games I like, I like it.

Me and my girlfriend enjoy watching wrestling and playing the games.

It's a pass time we enjoy together and as long as we have that, we're happy.



I think most men just want a girl they can have a common interest with.

everyone has different choice. u do have ur own. most of the guys like racing nd combat type games cause they r filled with exitement. as for being a girl, they like to play certain types of games like u said. not as fierce ones as boys play(as far as i know :P). but this is not somthing to hide. u mustnt be embarassed abt this at all. nd hey! even i play sid meier's civilization! :D its nothing to hide. its cool in a way!!
I know my boyfriend would LOVE it if I played more computer games. He's a gamer, basically any kind. (He's not the home-bound type of guy either, he's a musician and outdoor guy) I really like video games, just not every single day. I am a gal too. And I play Hitman, Assassin's Creed, F.E.A.R, Counter-Strike, Bioshock etc etc.

Whenever I tell this or discuss this in front of any guy, first he really thinks it's a joke but then eventually realizes.
hun, even if your 40 something, its ok to like video games....im the type of guy that likes those kind of video games too! not shooting....those are destructive...but rollercoaster tycoon is one of my favorites! i wouldn't be ashamed!
i love a girl who likes video games. gives us something to relate and they cant complain while i play video games. haha, but if im being ignored for video games not sure it would be fun anymore
Really dont care, neither do girls btw. This isnt the 1950s women do play video games quite often.
It would be cool to talk with a girl about that stuff to a certain extent.
