Computer programming (not languages, although you'll need them later - plain old computer science), game theory (both mathematical theory and games themselves - a great game isn't just an idea, it's a well-developed concept), marketing, graphics design and, possibly, psychology. That's why great games are designed by teams - it's too much for one person.

What classes should I take if I want to design computer games in the future?
